The Omega Mob originally named Alpha Mob was one of the first 7 meerkat mobs to be located in the Extreme Desert during January 1990 by meerkat researchers,one of the member was collared and the group was soon followed.

It took 5 months for the group to become fully-habituated, the dominant pair of the group was held by female Alpha and male Bravo.

January 1990: Alpha Mob was founded by meerkat researchers, and the group was soon followed.

February 1990 - May 1990: Group was being habituated and became fully-habituated during May 1990.

June 1990: The Omega Mob had encounters with wild mobs outside the observation area.

July 1990: The Omega Mob had encounters with the Flighters Mob.

August 1990: (VOGM005) was predated by a bird of prey.

September 1990: (VOGF001) Alpha mated with a wild roving male.

October 1990: (VOGF001) Alpha evicted (VOGF006) (VOGF007).

November 1990: (VOGF006) and (VOGF007) later rejoined the group. (VOGM003) and (VOGM004) went roving and never returned. (VOGF001) Alpha gave birth to (VOGM009), (VOGM010) and (VOGF011). The Omega Mob had an encounter with the Stellar Mob.

December 1990: The Omega Mob had encounters with multiple mobs.
