Donatello(VMMM043) was born in a wild meerkat mob. His mother and father were either the dominant pair of a subordinate femae and a rover. His litter-mates are unknown. He survived to adulthood. Then he left his wild group along with three other males Leonardo, Michalangelo and Raphael. They coalition emigrated into the Moomins group.


Donatello and the other males fought for dominance. Leonardo won the position of dominant male next to the new Moomins dominant female, Hemulen. With Leonardo as dominant male Donetello and the two other males rover often. Donatello did not gain male dominance over Leonardo and in May 2009 he left to rove with Rapheal. They were seen often at other groups then they joined a tree Young Ones female, one was born in the Commandos but was adopted into the Young Ones as a pup. They five meerkats stayed together and formed a new group called Zambia.


The oldest femae Zoroaster, the Commandos female, took the position of dominant female over the other two females Mertle and Lucy. Donatello and Rapheal fought for dominance and this time Donatello won and became the new dominant male and Zoroaster's mate. Zoroaster firs gave birth on October 16, 2009 to Zikomo, Ziki, Zara and Zekara. They were her first litter ever as well as Donatello's. She gave birth again on March 22, 2010 to Chara, Morocco, Nigeria and Ethiopia. On June 7, 2010 she gave birth to five pups. Zoroaster and Donatello are still the dominant pair of the Zambia today.
